So, I made this fanvid. It took around 9 months to make because I couldn’t find the source I wanted (and I never found the source I wanted), but mostly because Windows Movie Maker is the most hellish video making software ever. Let me assure you that this would be a better fan video if I didn’t have to listen to the song from the beginning every time I made a change or tweak, because otherwise the music didn’t line up. Truthfully, there are still many things I’d change about the final product, but I can’t hear the song again. Not for awhile, anyway. One day I might move on from the wretched, evil WMM and buy some proper video making software, but I’m not sure when I’ll do such a thing, since spending money on video making products isn’t really in my budget, especially when I do it so rarely and can’t ever seem to find source.

Wow. Don’t you want to watch this now? Hah. Anyway, it’s a fanvid about The Fabulous Beekman Boys.

Spying On Hope

And, no, I have no idea why it runs on for 2 minutes longer than the music. Uh, I’m pretty sure this is why I’m not a vidder. I’d be unwilling to put a story or book out in this shape, but when it comes to vids I’m all, “GOOD ENOUGH.” And done. πŸ˜›

    1. Could be the case! Or maybe it is also a situation where it’s a very poorly made fanvid, so emotional attachment to the source is usually a must for enjoyment. Very well made fanvids don’t usually require an emotional attachment to the source and can be enjoyed by almost anyone. But dinky fanvids do often require that a person really love the show that it is based on in some way.

  1. Personally, I liked it. I’ve never heard of the show, but I think the music fit the video clips you used. Despite the limitations of WMM, you did a pretty good job. If you’re ever in the market for a new computer, consider a MAC, as their iMovie program that comes as pre-loaded software is excellent for movie making. Now that I have a grandson, I’m loving it even more. We’re going to have some lovely memory videos of the little guy. πŸ™‚

    1. Aw, thanks. You’re very generous and super-sweet. I just got a new computer about a month ago (which I did not use in making this vid), and I’m already kind of wishing I’d gone with the Mac. *sigh* I decided that if I got a PC that was ‘cheap enough’ then I could justify it being ‘disposable’ to a degree, and only need it to last about 2 years. But, I don’t know. I’ve pretty much regretted not getting a Mac, so I guess in 2 years, I’ll be revisiting this. πŸ™‚

Aw, that is adorable about the videos of your grandson! What a good idea! ❀
