Review: The River Leith – I’m With Geek “Ultimately, The River Leith is a delight: devastating, hopeful, sexy, romantic, and true.” #gay #amreading

“The River Leith is a short book. It could be completed in a day, and it is engrossing enough to do so. As with her previous book, Training Season, Blake showcases her skill for writing unique, involved and developed relationships. Her sex scenes are also wonderfully written, realistic and free of purple prose while still being romantic (but I’m With Geek will be sure to discuss them in more detail in a later Between the Sheets article.)

Ultimately, The River Leith is a delight: devastating, hopeful, sexy, romantic, and true.”

Memory is everything. After an injury in the ring, amateur boxer Leith Wenz wakes to discover his most recent memories are three years out of date. Unmoored and struggling to face his new reality, Leith must cope anew with painful revelations about his family. His brother is there to support him, but it’s the unfamiliar face of Zach, a man introduced as his best friend, that provides the calm he craves. Until Zach’s presence begins to stir up feelings Leith can’t explain. For Zach, being forgotten by his lover is excruciating. He carefully hides the truth from Leith to protect them both from additional pain. His bottled-up turmoil finds release through vlogging, where he confesses his fears and grief to the faceless Internet. But after Leith begins to open up to him, Zach's choices may come back to haunt him. Ultimately, Leith must ask his heart the questions memory can no longer answer.

“Elegant story-telling. I couldn’t put this one down.” Review of The River Leith by Leta Blake

“Elegant story-telling. I couldn’t put this one down. As would be expected with a story about a man with amnesia, there’s a lot of introspection and revisits to the past, yet it never once felt like the story had stagnated. In fact, the pace was so right, measured. Loved every word.”

“Wow, I do love this author’s amazing writing style and story lines!” Review: The River Leith by Leta Blake

“Wow, I do love this author’s amazing writing style and story lines! This was a very enjoyable read, it may be heartbreaking at times but there is plenty of humour between the characters and some great sub characters that make this a excellent read. I was wishing throughout for Leith to get his memory back and everything to fall into place but also knew the brain is a complex organ that sometimes just can not heal itself. I can’t give the story away so this is a must read!! I would really like a second book,as I would love to know what the next year or Two brings for these wonderful characters! Highly recommended!!”

“Oh Mrs. Leta Blake you are fast becoming one of my favorites!” Review of The River Leith #gayromance

“Oh Mrs. Leta Blake you are fast becoming one of my favorites! This is one of those stories that kinda leaves you breathless. I mean think about your partner…now imagine he/she doesn’t remember anything about you or your relationship together. Is the love you share strong enough pull them to you regardless??? Well this is that story. Leith has lost the last three years and Zach has lost his lover and best friend. The story takes you through some of the frustrations they have while traveling the path back to each other. I’m not sure I could be as strong and Zach or Leith for that matter.Again I wish I had he gift of words to truly describe this story to you. The only thing I wish Mrs. Blake would have included in the story is the same thing Leith wanted which is how they met…ugh! I want to know that story too!”

“This is a great book about amnesia and finding love again. I give it 5 fangs.” The River Leith by Leta Blake | Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock

“This is a great book about amnesia and finding love again. Leith is a boxer who gets hurt and is in a coma for a while and when he wakes up he’s lost the last 3 years of his life. His brother Arthur and his boyfriend Zach have to decide what to tell him and not tell him. They tell him his father is dead but not that Zach is his boyfriend. This is a really sweet story of love and the sex, what little of it there is, is steamy and hot!! I love how Leith slowly comes to the realization that he loves Zach but doesn’t know how Zach feels. There is some angst and doubt about what is going to happen between  Leith and Zach. Will Leith get his memory back or do they have to make new memories?  Will Zach stay with Leith? This is definitely not a book for the under 18 crowd even though it is a tastefully written romance it is M/M. I give it 5 fangs.”

“What an emotional journey. I wish I could hug everyone in this book.” Review of The River Leith by Leta Blake #gayromance

“What an emotional journey. I felt for Zach, Marian, Ava and Arthur. How much do you tell Leith or do you wait for it come back? What would I do if my loved one saw me as a stranger? It’s amazing at how the body retains certain memory even when the cognitive mind doesn’t. I appreciate this author tackling a difficult subject with sensitivity yet conveying the sense of helplessness the characters felt. I could see everyone’s POV and I just had to walk with them with hope and patience.

I wish I could hug everyone in this book.”

“One of the best M/M stories I’ve read.” Reviews: The River Leith by Leta Blake

“One of the best M/M stories I’ve read. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like to have the person you love most in the world forget everything you were together. That’s what happened to Zach, when the love of his life Leith suffers a blow to the head and forgets the last 3 years of his life. It was during those three years that Zach and Leith met and fell in love. But now Leith has no memory of Zach. For some reason that he can’t explain though, Leith still feels drawn to Zach. Can they rebuild their love, in spite of all that they’ve lost? I loved this story and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Can’t wait to read more by this author.”
