Gay Games and Inclusiveness #gaygames9 #lgbt #gay

Because of all the terrible things happening in Russia right now, I’ve had mixed emotions about the Olympics this year, especially on the heels of releasing Training Season, an erotic romance which features an Olympic athlete. I wanted to find a way to feel like I was making even a small difference and that’s when I read up on the Gay Games and found that they are inclusive in every way, representing the true ideals of the original Olympics. Well, so long as you were male and not a slave and yadda. Never mind, forget my comment about the original Olympics. The Gay Games are much more inclusive than they ever were!

Regardless, I’ve pledged to donate 10% of the first six months of Training Season profits to the Gay Games to support an organization that is truly inclusive and open.

Now, Training Season might not be a read for everyone. It’s a gay erotic romance with some (smokin’ hot) graphic scenes that aren’t for every reader. But, in this post-50 Shades world, many people are looking for material of this nature and if you are, then this might be a book for you. With that reference alone, one should be able to determine if the book is for them or not.If you do purchase any time from now until May the 10% of your purchase price goes to support the Gay Games!

Training Season can be purchased at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, ARe, and Smashwords. Coming soon to iBooks.

The Gay Games Aren’t Just For Gay People! #sports #gaygames9 #gay

The Gay Games only have 6% participation by heterosexuals, mainly because the assumption is that only LGBT people can participate in the games. But that simply isn’t the case! The Gay Games are absolutely inclusive and any athlete can participate.

The Chicago Tribune ran an interesting article about the Gay Games a few years back. I recommend reading it.

Read more about the Gay Games 9, and remember that I’m donating 10% of the first six months profits on Training Season to the Gay Games. Spread the word!

What I’m Doing About Russia, Olympics & the Gay Games #gay #russia #olympics

So, as we know, Russia has become a complete nightmare when it comes to gay rights. We also know that the Olympic Committee has expressed that they are content with the assurances that Russia has given them regarding the safety of athletes.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this horror show while putting the final touches on my book, Training Season, which features an Olympic athlete and many Russian references. As circumstances unfolded, I started to become uncomfortable with releasing the book without at least acknowledging what was happening and doing something in reaction to it.

My initial thought was that I’d like to donate a portion of the profits to an organization that worked directly with LGBT people in Russia. But given the extremity of the new laws, finding such an organization turned out to be rather impossible. After all, such groups would undoubtedly be seen as gay propaganda, and thus are likely keeping a low profile at the moment.

In the end, I started looking for organizations that promote world-wide inclusiveness, athleticism, and stand for everything that is under question with regards to the current Olympic situation and atmosphere. I decided on donating to help with The Gay Games 9.

“The 2014 Gay Games presented by the Cleveland Foundation will host 11,000 participants from all over the world who will compete in 35 sports and culture programs. Presenting a large-scale, week-long event takes an extraordinary amount of time, people, money and other resources. You can be part of 2014 Gay Games in a meaningful way by making a donation to support these efforts. All levels of contribution are welcome.”

So, I will donate 10% of all profits on Training Season earned over the next six months to The Gay Games.

Please help me spread the word!

I’d like to be able to donate a good amount to the games! It would be awesome to be able to contribute to something so open and inspiring! And, please, if it moves you, go ahead and click on the picture above and make a donation straight to the games. Or, if you buy Training Season, I assure you that 10% of all profits for the next six months will go to this fine organization!
